What do we do?

The Lanka Agri Produce Management Corporation (LAPMC) was established mainly to enhance and ensure food security and sustainable development of agriculture sector of Sri Lanka through implementation of efficient and competitive agricultural supply and value chain management systems.

We integrate science and technology to agriculture in sustainable manner, to provide products with high quality, safety and correct price index to prosper the farmers and consumers.

We do our business in agriculture sector; specially focus on fruits, vegetables and spices. Efficient resource utilization, proper distribution, price management and stakeholder empowerment are the key strategies followed to gain more productive and professional nature for conventional agriculture.

LAPMC
Supply Chain

The LAPMC manages temperature controlled perishable supply chain and delivers fresh and quality produce to the retail selling under the LAPMC CERTIFIED brand at present.

Farmers’ productions collect by registered bulk transporters and bring to distribution center for cleaning, sorting, grading and packaging. Finished products are distributed among island wide retails by the registered transporters. The distribution cycle from farmer to retailer is around 18 hours and perishables will flow under temperature controlled conditions from farmer to retail.

Local Fruits and Vegetables, Leafy Greens

Fresh produce market under the LAPMC CERTIFIED brand.

Coconut and Cooking oil

Coconuts collect from farmers and plantations. It subjects to grading and delivers to island wide retails.

Spices

Consumer packs of spices with SLS, ISO, HACCP, GMP,SEDEX, SOORIYA SINGHE certificates supply to island wide retails under the LAPMC GOOD SPICES brand.

Dr. Jayawardena obtained his B.Sc. Degree on Agriculture with Honours from the University of Ceylon. His M.Sc. is on Agronomy was obtained in Kyoto, and his Ph.D. on Agronomy & Physiology from the University of Kyoto.

Managed one of the largest nurseries on Ledesdale Estate in the company of Mathurata Plantation Comprises of Tea, Green Manure, Shade Plant, Conducted Seminars and workshops for Tea Nurseries for small holders in Walapane Area.
